Sugar the Moluccan cockatoo giving attitude

Our Sugar has come a long way in a little over 2-1/2 years. She came to us with feather destructive behavior so bad that we thought that we would surely lose her. It was a long and arduous path to get her where she is now. She went through 13 different collars, many trips to the vet to have broken feathers removed, trips to the vet because she had broken blood feathers, and more. Some told us that it wasn’t worth the effort. Some told us that you couldn’t be saved. But we didn’t give up.

KayKay recently from Alaska

KayKay’s Dad passed away after months in a hospital care center. KayKay is feather destructive, a mutilator, and considered “a biter.” His Dad discussed sending him to me several times because I know how to deal with these issues and have been successful with every bird in my care so far. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of our move when he died. His executor found our conversation in Michael’s phone and gave me a call. After I explained what Michael wanted for KayKay it was agreed that he should be sent to us on Alaska Airlines. Yes, this beautiful life was living in Alaska.

The weather was bad and setting a time for the flight was difficult but perhaps this video will explain it all better than words can.
